Special lecture of China and India. Branstetter. I’m an Associate Professor of Economics and Public Policy at Carnegie Mellon University. And the question I’d like to address today is this, will India and China dominate the 21st century global economy?

Now, this is a question that many of America’s business and government leaders seem to be asking these days.Economics has an answer to this question, and the answer is a qualified yes.China will almost certainly be a larger economy than the United States by the middle of the 21st century.

China will almost certainly be a larger economy than the United States by the middle of the 21-st century. By centuries end, it could be twice as big, and by the end of the 21st century, India will also almost certainly be somewhat larger than the United States.
